Jeet is a very big fan of The Big B, Amitabh Bachchan from his Childhood. Most of the film he had done, his name was Vijay as like Amitabh did in his time. When first time Jeet appeared in his Debut film as a lead in Saathi, People compares him with Amitabh Bachchan as his Style and Attitude and Dialog Deliver Style also. Jeet always said in interviews that the comparison with Mr. Amitabh Bachchan was a great pleasure to him.
When Raja Chanda came to Jeet with The Script of Bachchan, Jeet can't refuse them and he was very impressed with his role and agreed to produce the film under his banner Grassroot Entertainment.
Bachchan the film was a remake of Kannada film Vishnuvardhana. Mainly it is a story of a young boy who is die hard fan of Big B Amitabh Bachchan and can do anything for the sake of his Idol. In this film, Jeet was fallen in love with Priya and there was some problem were arise and he solved all the problems.
This is the main plot, there is no scene with Amitabh Bachchan with Jeet. The film has used the name of the Surname of Bachchan and the Main Character Vijay played by Jeet was adopted as like as Bachchan was played in Reel Life.
Subhasree the popular Bengali heroine appeared in the Latai Song of this film. The song became most popular in that year.
Before release, the Film Jeet went to meet with Amitabh Bachchan in his Bungalow Mannat. Jeet was successful in meeting with Bachchan. Jeet got Ashirbad (Best Wishes) for his film and career from his Idol, Bachchan.
After the meeting, Jeet told in the press that it was like Dreams come true. He always a big fan of Amitabh Bachchan. He never thought that this would happen in real life. He had a dream to work with him in any film.
Bachchan did well in box office but it was not successful as like as other movies of Jeet. Jeet got mixed reaction from Critics and Public also for the Film Bachchan.
Bachchan was co-produced by Jeet under his Production Grassroot Entertainment. The film was distributed and co-produced by Reliance Entertainment. Music by Jeet Ganguly. There were Kharaj Mukherjee, Kanchan Mullick, Payel Sarkar in this film with Jeet. Aindrita Roy the Kannada actress made her debut in this film in Bengali Film Industry.
